Art Collection Management
Art collection management includes the following services. These can be performed separately at any time.
Collection Care: BPart treats your objects with respect providing guidelines for all aspects of the collection care and conservation including storage and display, handling and general care, housekeeping and pest control, matting and framing, lighting, insurance and security.
Condition Reports: are usually made at the beginning of the inventory process. However inspection and photography of the pieces to evaluate their state and provide a complete report can be done at any time. This type of evaluation is recommended for most insurance companies yearly.
Loans: BPart handles all of your collections on loan, recording corresponding information every time it is out of your premises: the borrower, start and end dates, insurer and insured total in any currency and loan location. BPart is familiar with museum expectations, including packing, condition reporting, tracking and handling of your collection items. BPart reviews loan agreements, facilities report, and insurance documents.
Shipping: BPart coordinates local, domestics, and international shipments for exhibitions, art fairs, auctions, and private clients with the most reputable shipping companies in the United States and abroad. BPart gets estimates for picking up/ delivering, installing/deinstalling, packing, and crating, as well as custom quotes and insurance. BPart also consolidate shipments to maximize efficiency and minimize costs.
Photography: photography is required to accurately record the works in a collection. The photographs of each work are taken at the same time the pieces are being cataloged. Most insurance companies and appraisers require digital photography for their reports.
Installations: BPart manage installation and deinstallation of works for private clients, exhibitions and art fairs, hiring art handlers, supervising, taking detail condition reports, photographs, and packing and unpacking.
Couriering: BPart act as a courier for very valuable and fragile art works nationally and internationally.
Archival File System Creation: all files relevant to your art collection are examined and correlated to corresponding objects. Relevant information is entered into your database and a "physical file system" is developed.
Expenses: BPart records all expenses related to your collection, such as conservation, photography,

Publications: if your piece has ever been referred to or discussed in a publication, BPart tracks this down for you, keeping the records and relevant information such as type of publication, title and author, publisher, and volume.
Labeling: your art needs to be identified at any time for insurance, exhibitions, cataloguing or any other purpose. BPart labels your work following specifications of the AAM.
